# The Vineyard and the Wine

The history of Casa da Calçada is rooted, like its vines, deep in the land of Quinta da Calçada, sacred soil where winemaking has been carried out with a sincere spirit since 1917. A date that translates into knowledge, determination and resilience, the same qualities that we witness in the tendrils, and which guarantee this house the noble honour of being called one of the oldest and most celebrated producers in the demarcated region of Vinhos Verdes and the possession of the oldest certified vineyard in the region. A wine that was drunk in bowls, and that still speaks for a resilient and fearless people.
